About the event
This is a classroom style training (human only event). The Breaking Down Barriers of Reactivity series is designed to familiarize learners with different types of training tools available to help deter, and ultimately reduce, reactivity in their dogs. This entry level course will review how to properly engage and desensitize dogs to equipment that include, muzzles, crates, long leads, front lead harnesses, training collars, and Gentle Leaders. You will learn how to safely and humanely engage these items so that you can achieve positive behavioral outcomes with your dog. Understanding reinforcement, models, schedules and methods will be reviewed to help you understand how to ultimately change your dogs emotional associations to potential triggers. A quick review on psychology and "perceived threats" will also be included in this course.
Recommended for trainers in training, as well as non-professionals
